Blog Update January 2026

On this cold, windy, and otherwise miserable day, it’s time for a blog update.

It had been a while since I posted anything on the blog. This relates to my Day Job. From Black Friday to New Year’s Day, things can get quite busy. Only recently have things calmed down. The blog enters an involuntary hibernation of sorts. Last year, it involved the trifecta of a busy job, the holiday season, and weather challenges. Between a heavy work-load, visiting friends and family, and snow, the blog took a back seat.

First, I have finished uploading the remaining New York Journal of Books reviews. The latest batch was from 2015 and earlier. Most originate from the blog’s transition from Minnesota’s Driftless Area to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Among the many reviews are included biographies of two Israeli prime ministers: Menachem Begin and Ariel Sharon. There are also several reviews on books relating to the politics and economics of the Great Recession.

In addition, I found a CCLaP review I missed: The Afterlife of Pork Knuckles Malone, by bizarro author MP Johnson.

While still having to endure the harsh weather in January and February, I’m looking forward to warmer weather and the upcoming time change.
